Art can be its own form of reflection, sometimes saying what words can’t. As part of our inaugural gala, A Night of Light, we’re inviting local artists to create and submit a piece around this year’s theme, Illumination: how art has illuminated your own mental health journey. Selected pieces will be showcased, entered into a competition, and available for auction at the gala, with proceeds going directly toward funding free therapy sessions for our community.
Submissions are open through September 11, 2026.
This program supports pregnant and postpartum mothers through wellness education, community support, and access to care, helping mothers feel informed, supported, and confident through pregnancy and beyond. It's free and open to mothers across Sacramento and Yuba City.
Sessions are led by professionals in maternal mental health, sometimes joined by voices from healthcare, education, or wellness, giving mothers space to ask questions and connect mental health to everyday life.
Sessions run year-round. Drop in to any one, any time.
These sessions are conversation-based and flexible. Mothers are always encouraged to share what they’d like to see or discuss in future sessions as well. Mothers can join one or many, in any order.
Honest conversations about emotional and physical changes — stress, mental load, hormones, sleep, exhaustion, and burnout.
Identity shifts, relationships, family dynamics, and how partners and loved ones can show up in meaningful ways.
Asking for help without guilt, everyday tools for feeling grounded, and knowing when extra support might be needed.
On March 21, we hosted The Mama Circle, a free maternal mental health gathering at Kids Collab in Yuba City. The event brought mothers together to connect, breathe, and feel supported in a welcoming, judgment-free space.
Co-hosted with PERIOD. Sacramento and Woods Family Speech Therapy, the gathering offered the kind of in-person community that's at the heart of this program. PERIOD. Sacramento also donated free menstrual products for every attendee, with additional supplies shared with the broader community.
A few times a year, SAVE partners with wellness practitioners to host free or sliding-scale community events, creating accessible spaces for people to heal, reset, and reconnect. These sessions bring professional-grade wellness practices to our community without cost being a barrier.
In partnership with Life Shift Method, founded by Sydney and Jeet, Nervous System Regulation Practitioners specializing in breathwork detoxing, sound therapy, and nervous system regulation, SAVE hosted a 3-hour group healing experience on July 11 at The Root, a Sacramento-based fitness center, yoga studio, childbirth education center, and peer community created for pregnant persons and new parents.
Guests were guided through breathwork detox, sound healing, meditation and mindfulness, closing with a moment of intentional integration to leave feeling grounded, clear, and at peace.
