SAVE Pathways to Care: Donate a Therapy

Many people want support for their mental and emotional well-being, but the first steps into care can feel hard to navigate. Cost, wait times, and uncertainty often slow people down at the very beginning.

SAVE Pathways to Care exists to make that first stretch of care more accessible, supportive, and steady — so people have time to build trust, reflect, and decide what comes next

Why Pathways to Care matters

Research and clinical practice show that people benefit most from early, consistent sessions, not just a single appointment. Meaningful progress takes time, and trust doesn’t form in one visit.

Pathways to Care offers a short-term, realistic starting point — giving people space to stabilize and begin care without pressure to commit beyond what feels right for them.

How the pathway works

SAVE Pathways to Care provides up to 8 therapy sessions per person, delivered by licensed mental health professionals through trusted partner organizations.

This approach gives participants time to:

  • Build trust with a clinician
  • Feel supported during an important moment
  • Learn coping tools and gain clarity
  • Decide next steps for continued care

SAVE does not provide therapy. SAVE supports access and continuity through partnership.

What makes Pathways to Care different

  • Accessible — no diagnosis required to begin
  • Consistent — multiple sessions instead of one-time support
  • Respectful — participant-led, confidential, trauma-informed
  • Flexible — in-person or telehealth options

Pathways to Care exists because access without continuity is not real access.

Who Is This Support For?

SAVE Pathways to Care is for people who want mental health support but face barriers at the very beginning—such as cost, insurance gaps, or limited access to care.

This pathway is designed to help people take an early, supported step into care, with enough time to build trust and decide what support looks right for them.

Licensed partner providers determine whether short-term therapy is appropriate through their existing clinical intake processes. Save Family Foundation does not make clinical decisions.

SAVE’s role is to ensure that funds are available, used responsibly, and aligned with ethical standards—while protecting privacy and respecting professional boundaries.

How Do Clinicians Decide — and How Is It Fair?

Licensed clinicians use the same ethical standards, intake practices, and professional judgment they already apply to all clients. SAVE does not direct or influence who receives care.

Clinicians consider factors such as:

  • Whether short-term therapy is appropriate
  • Whether the person’s needs match the type of care offered
  • Whether support can be provided safely and responsibly

By relying on licensed professionals and established clinical guidelines, Pathways to Care remains fair, ethical, and consistent for everyone.

SAVE supports access. Clinicians provide care. Each role stays clear and respected.

Donate a Therapy

Pathways to Care is made possible through collective giving.

No one person carries the cost alone. When many people give at a level that feels right to them, therapy becomes accessible to those who need it most.

Choose a giving level

$1 — joins the movement to make therapy accessible

$5 — helps reduce barriers to entering care

$10 — supports continuity beyond a single session

$25 — helps sustain short-term therapy pathways

$50 — strengthens care for individuals in active treatment

$100 — helps fund meaningful progress across multiple sessions

Other — give what feels right

Every contribution matters. Every gift helps keep the door to care open.

Who does SAVE Pathways to Care support?

SAVE Pathways to Care supports individuals seeking short-term therapy who face barriers such as cost, access, or long waitlists. No diagnosis is required to begin care.

Is therapy provided through SAVE confidential?

Yes. All therapy services funded through SAVE Pathways to Care are confidential and trauma-informed. SAVE Family Foundation does not access personal clinical records.

Who provides the therapy through SAVE Pathways to Care?

Therapy sessions are delivered by licensed mental health professionals through trusted partner organizations. SAVE Family Foundation does not provide clinical services directly.

Why does SAVE focus on short-term therapy instead of long-term care?

SAVE Pathways to Care focuses on short-term therapy because early, consistent support can make a meaningful difference. This model helps people stabilize, build trust, and gain tools while they explore next steps for continued care if needed.

Why not just fund one therapy session per person?

One session is often not enough for someone to feel safe or supported. SAVE Pathways to Care is designed to offer multiple sessions so individuals have time to build trust, experience continuity, and make real progress.

How is my donation used by SAVE?

Donations to SAVE Pathways to Care help fund therapy sessions provided by licensed mental health professionals. A portion also supports program coordination, trusted partnerships, and impact tracking to ensure care is delivered responsibly.

Do small donations really make a difference?

Yes. SAVE Pathways to Care is built on collective giving. When many people give $1, $5, or $10, together those contributions make consistent therapy access possible.

How does SAVE decide who receives support?

SAVE works with partners to identify individuals who face barriers to accessing care. Support is offered based on need and availability, with respect for privacy and dignity.

What happens if someone does not complete all 8 sessions?

SAVE Pathways to Care is designed to encourage consistency because more than one session is important for meaningful progress. If someone attends only one session and does not continue, SAVE checks in to understand what happened and whether additional support or flexibility is needed.

We also recognize that life happens. When possible, we allow reasonable flexibility. However, because resources are limited and many people are waiting for care, SAVE tracks attendance to ensure therapy access is used responsibly and can be offered to others who need it.

Our goal is not perfection — it is consistency, fairness, and impact.
